Linda Lopez is a professional encaustic mixed media artist who combines her love of photography and other art mediums to create captivating works. Nature, birds, and animals’ figure prominently in her work, as she finds them endlessly inspiring. Her aim is to create a sense of tranquility and contemplation through her encaustic works, inviting viewers to connect with the natural world.
Teaching and demonstrating encaustic are another area of enjoyment for her, as she loves to share the techniques and the beauty of this ancient art form which uses beeswax and damar resin. She offers private workshops where she guides her student through the basic techniques of this versatile medium. She takes pride in teaching students how to harness their creativity and explore their own artistic voice.
New to the state of Virginia, she maintains her a membership with both the International Encaustic Artists [IEA] and the Florida Wax chapter. She stays connected to a network of like-minded artists who are passionate about encaustic. These memberships provide her with opportunities to collaborate with fellow artists, exhibit her work, and participate in juried exhibitions.
Linda previously displayed her work at the Hub Gallery in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She has also participated in group shows with Florida Wax, as well as individual juried fine art shows throughout central Florida such as the Galerie Elan in Daytona Beach FL, Art Lofts in St. Pete, FL and Art Ovation Hotel in Sarasota, FL, among others.
